Our Weekly Wrap-Up

The kids didn't miss a beat this week. I was a bit afraid that the late nights of Spring break were going to catch up on them, turns out it was a great rejuvenator for them. They were ready to tackle those Work Plans and get a bit of structure back into their days.

In Math this week it was all about percentages and multiples. They LOVED the new percentages work, and Ken went on to make a percentages book.

We continue to learn more about Greek Mythology.

We finished reading out read aloud chapter books. I am excited about their new picks that I'll be sharing soon about, They totally turned another page this week as far as independently reading. Their word study work that they repeated was root words, and analogies. With the spelling card Ken did some syllabication work .They read so much we decided it was time for another library visit.

For Geography Ken mostly worked on learning about National Parks and labeled them on a United States Map. DJ did the same as he researched about inventions. The Africa Continent box was used often by DJ as he is switching out objects related to inventions that he has found while doing research.

DJ did a mini report on Uranus and painted the planets. The picture above shows his attempt of making a mobile with the supplies he had on hand.

Illustrating animals in the different classes of the Animal Kingdom.

We went to the Butterfly Garden for some hands on fun with the creatures Ken is learning about. Ken is looking forward to going back soon.

Practical Life

Working on robotic arm edge kit.

Learning the Hows and Whys of haircare and hairstyling.
