January Cultural And Practical Life Works:Montessori Monday

We have been really into taking a break these past two days. It  has been fun, and now it is time to get back to work. Our shelves are full of fun thanks to Michelle. Today I wanted to share with you some awesome kits, that Michelle gave DJ and Ken. They are super excited that I have them all ready to go for tomorrow.

This was a surprise for all of us, Michelle really worked with this one.

I really like all of these kits, they were kinda on the expensive side, but they all lived up to what they were expected to do. The quality is excellent and they were able to be passed down!

To tie in some shelve work to DJ's Mandrill study at the zoo, I put this together. The book I found ages ago at the Target spot, and the toob of apes and monkeys I think I purchased at JoAnns. DJ is to find out what the differences are between Apes and Monkeys, then sort them.
We are about to explore space so I found this printable that had the first 92 elements for them to put together a poster, and color code them. More fun science books!
The kids are excited about more practical life choices on the shelves as well. In the summer Ken talked me into buying this so she can remodel it. Thanks to a sale at Hobby Lobby she is able to get a start on it now. Ken is going to begin by remodeling the bathroom with new tile, and wallpaper.

Ken got a Laptop for Christmas so she found a tutorial for a no sew tutu. Here are the materials she says needs.
I put this on the shelf in hopes it dosen't collect any more dust. Ken may want to do some knitting on a loom.
More building for DJ!  The point of interest is using the sandpaper, he loves to sand!

This is part of a simple machines kit, DJ will be making a mini scissor lift.
Believe it or not, but they were more excited about this work than anything else. Their new spelling work with objects. They never told me this until today that they were bored doing their spelling sheets. I just thought the change was good because they were always getting the words correct which is good, but we like a challenge. I just love making learning fun whenever I can!!
