Christmas Around The World

I was so glad when I came across this unit at the shop Seejaneteachmultiage at  Teachers Notebook. It was on sale for less than five dollars so I didn't think it would hurt to at least give it go. It appears this is just what Ken and DJ were looking for.

Forgive me for not knowing how many countries they will be visiting I didn't take the time to count. Today they learned about Christmas in Germany. They loved using the readers theatre model to learn about Christmas Around the World. Since they are really interested in making videos right now this was right up their alley.

During this unit they will be recording facts about each countries traditions.

It has been awhile since they have done any geography work so they were sparked immediately when they had to find Germany on the globe.

On the map that was provided they labeled Germany and colored in the continent. They also used one of our books about flags and found the flag of Germany.

Finally they wrote down what they learned about Christmas in Germany and colored Germany's flag.

This is a real simple unit that has been able to fill their need to learn more about Christmas Around the World. This unit is jammed packed with activities!
Next stop Holland!

I am linking this post to the History/Geography Meme hosted by All Things Beautiful.
